That's it?
A meth bust? That's important and all, but not exactly worth tipping the media off yesterday with promises of a "big indictment," especially in the charged environment we're under. At least in my book.

I concur. It appeared that this "press conference" was used as an opportunity for a couple of redneck sheriffs, the cowboys of the MBN, and Mr. Prima Donna himself (aka Michael Guest) to grandstand about how great they think law enforcement is. I'm guessing it wasn't the U.S. Attorney's idea to do this.
I was watching the count of folks watching through the CL live feed and laughed when about 20% immediatly dropped off when they said Meth- apperently we werent the only ones looking for Scruggs related indictments!
Steve Rushing, Sheriff of Lincoln County is NOT a redneck sheriff. He may be a redneck (and really aren't we all)but he is not one of the good ole boys.

You called it with your previous thoughts about the big immigration bust, Matt, although I was with you thinking it was our former D.A.

I think it was done as a huge practical joke on the Jackson and Statewide blogosphere. Personally, I think it's pretty funny.
