Rumblings about the open Hinds County Circuit Court seat

Here are the latest rumors:

1. Phillip Gunn has supposedly withdrawn his name from consideration. The rumor has it that he didn't want to take a pay cut. I certainly can't blame him for that.

2. Another jurist in Hinds County will be appointed to that seat, opening up room for Barbour to make another appointment. This judge has submitted his packet to the committee.

Try this: Dewayne Thomas is looking at running for it when it is up for election.

Interesting. Maybe he'll be the appointnment. Then the Governor has a new opening on the Chancery Court side.

Skinner.

Why would any sane person want to go from county court judge to circuit court judge? $2k per year raise and a 200% increase in headache.

It would be a move from Chancery to Circuit for Thomas
